it's my last day @ Coldwell! YaY!!!! i finally get to sleep-in on the weekends again! YESSSS!

i had CPR training yesterday from 10:30am 'till 4:00pm... sheesh...they told me it was only gonna be 4 hours. obviously, they lied.  but anyway, it was kool though. there were 3 guys, and 2 girls (including myself). we all were trained for Child CPR, Infant CPR, and Infant Choking. we were each tested after each segment that was taught. yup, we had to teach in front of other people.... and i did very well! i was surprised myself! we got checked-off on those 3 skills, and start teaching next month (which is a few days away). i think it's great! i'm finally working fields that make sense.

hhmmm... friday was an interesting day for me. i worked in Lafayette with Dr. Avakoff.... it was soooooo busy! we had 2 receptionists, a nurse, one doctor, and myself- the med. assist. we did lots of surgeries yesterday. the one that stood-out the most was taking out skin cancer. that was some experience! i was exteremely tired at the end of the day, and i crashed when i got home.

rick came over last night (saturday) and we rented The Terminal, bought some ice cream and bananas (cuz ma made brownies). jona was home from SJ and so, we all kicked it at home. jona, jambs, and ma joined rick and i for the movie and for some brownies and ice cream. i sure wish dad was there. we had some good laughs! the movie was pretty funny, but we all agreed that the ending sucked.

my gosh! it's already March in a couple of days! Spring is almost here! YaY! i can't wait to go shopping for spring and summer clothes! hhmmm, better stop eating junk food. if ya know what i mean . hehehe.

i went shopping yesterday after i got off from work to make myself feel better. it didn't work though ....... i still felt crappy.

when my parents got home, i told them that i didn't get into sf state. i thought they would  be so disappointed and tell me that i "didn't do my best." but they were very understanding. my mom listened to what i had to say, and she pretty much encouraged me to re-apply myself. i felt a little better after getting all that off my chest!

here's what i have in mind:

since i still haven't heard from samuel merritt's ELMSN program, i did some other research on how i can re-apply myself. i checked out other programs, and stumbled on their Physician Assistant Program. it sounded interesting... the program's 2 years long, and after finishing the program you get a Master's degree. here's the kool part: PA's can write prescriptions, and they make as much money as (or maybe even more than) RN's! now that i'm a Med Assistant, and a CPR Instructor, i will be a stronger candidate for the PA program.  also, this summer, i will try and re-take a couple of classes to raise up my gpa. *whew* thank God!

sorry guys if i haven't been keeping up with my xanga.... i've been soooo busy with work! i quit Coldwell Banker last weekend and gave my supervisor my 2wks notice. it's about time i leave this place. i will be working at Webster Dermatology as a medical assistant full-time! yup, they gave me fridays also! pretty kool huh?!  i just had to give up coldwell... 7 days/wk of work is waaaaayyyy too much for me. btw, i had my first orientation with Fast Response last night. there will be another one next saturday and i'l be tested on some teaching skills. after i pass all that, i'll be teaching with a "LEAD" intructor first, then teach it by myself when i'm comfortable enough.

that was my good news. i wish i didn't have bad news, but i do..... *sigh*  well... when i got home last night from my orientation, there was an envelope on the kitchen table from SFSU with my name on it. my heart stopped for a second, and i became a nervous wreck. i didn't want to open it cuz i knew it was gonna disappoint me. but i did anyway. in big bold letters, it said, "NOTICE OF DENIAL OF ADMISSION."   it was seriously a slap in the face. they said my gpa wasn't good enough. i was .04 short from the cut-off. can you imagine????  .04!!!! they didn't give it to me....  i feel like a total loser.... like i haven't accomplished anything. why do schools base everything on gpa?? i know for sure they made a big mistake denying me. we'll see who gets the last laugh in the end. now that sfsu denied me, i'm not quite sure if i'll get into samuel merritt. i know i should think positive, but i'm not gonna get my hopes up or anything. looks like i'm gonna have to re-take a class and get a better grade on it to raise it at least by .04.

i think i'll try and work first. get some experience in the healthcare field. earn some money. then go back to school. that's what i have in mind right now. we'll see what happens later.

some life i have huh?!

i got both jobs! woohoo! i started working at webster dermatology on tuesday. i got friday off however. whew....it's great! i work with the doctors, and help them with minor surgeries and stuff. the other day we had a couple of patients come in and had cysts removed. and i was there to assist. we also removed sutures (stiches), and we did CSEs (complete skin exams). the drive to work ain't that bad. it's like 30-40 mins depending on traffic. i usually start at 8am, and go home around 4:30... sometimes 5pm.

i will also teach CPR in berkeley, maybe, twice a month. they said i don't really have to teach all the time. all i have to do is committ 2 days a month! this will look good on my resume for sure! i have to attend orientation sometime this month, and hopefully start teaching soon.

believe it or not, i am keeping my job at coldwell banker. i need the money anyway. i like it when i'm busy. but of course, i will always find time for family and friends.

unfortunately, i am very sick right now. i want to go home and sleep, but i can't because i'm at work. uugghh.... rick said he's stopping by later to give me medicine. pretty sweet huh?  we hung out yesterday for the first time in almost over a week. we both have been busy that's why. he made me green tea at his house, and he took me to my doctor's appointment. i felt so crappy yesterday, so, i went home early. sucks.

hhmm, let's see.

i had 2 interviews last week. one on thursday, which was in oakland, right across from summitt medical center. the position i applied for was: medical assistant (dermatologist office) the interview went well, and they called me back the following day. unfortunately, i wasn't home when they called. their office is closed this weekend, so, i have to call them back on monday. uugghh! i hope they're gonna offer me the job!

i had another interview on friday. this time it was in berkeley. the position i applied for was: 1st Aid/CPR instructor. the interview went unbelivably well, and i pretty much got the job on the spot! i have to go there again early in february to fill out some paper-work, then start training eventually. woohoo! didn't i tell you in december that i might teach??? well, i was right.

i plan to keep my weekend job because i really really need the money. and if i find out that i got the medical assisting job at the derma, then for sure i'll take that too! don't worry, they're all P/T.  work at the derma 3 days a week (MTW: 8-4:30pm), teach at night (TH&F6-9pm), then work on the weekends 10-4pm. damn. sounds tough.... but it'll pay off later on. of course i'll have to quit one of them when i get into a Nursing program this summer. i just really need the money right now for school expenses, airfare, and my bills!

i will be having dinner in the city tonight with rick's family. his dad is leaving for peru in a couple of days and has invited me to join them for a bonvoyage dinner. nice family huh?

by the way, any of you guys out there know where i can buy REALLY CHEAP roundtrip tix to manila?
